Càmara Arrossera del Montsià is a finalist at the European Award Cooperative Innovation

Càmara Arrossera del Montsià has been selected in the Circular Economy and Bioeconomy category of the European Award For Cooperative Innovation fifth edition for Oryzite, a new sustainable material made from rice husk that aims to compete with plastic.

With more than 140 candidates submitted and organized every three years by COGECA, the General Confederation of Agricultural Cooperatives, these awards are a recognition of innovation oriented towards sustainability in the agri-food, fishing and forestry sectors. Its main objective is to promote the most innovative practices, add value to cooperatives and sustainability in the different sectors.

During the second quarter of 2021, winners will be announced by a jury made up by Chairman’s of the European Parliament's Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development, and Deputy Director-General for Agriculture Committee, and other members.
